[Judaica. Law. Meerssen] Two titles in 1 vol.: (1) Sententien by den Hove Provinciaal

van Utrecht, den 27 May 1797, gepronuncieerd en geëxecuteerd, jegens Israël Abraham, Philip Meijer, Levy Samuel, Salomon Isack en David Israël. Utrecht, G. Post, 1797, 20 p., woodcut printer's mark on title, 19th-century half cloth, 4to.
Some foxing but a good, untrimmed copy. Interesting trial of what appears to be a gang of vagabond Jewish thieves and burglars, "wonende te Meerssen in het Land van Valkenburg" but originating from various German cities. Their aliases were Jeserool Hembden-snorder, Klein Feyteltje or Feyteltje Naas, Lyp Goudvogel, Salme Gast and Klein Davidje or David Wolf. A long list of their criminal actions ("ook by nagte en ontye gepleegt") shows they were active in the entire country. Bound with: (2) Similar publication on a similar gang, consisting of Everhard Engelen, Jan Gerrit Waltelingh, Frans Metger and Margaretha Wilhelmina Waltelingh, published in 1799, 53 p.
