Mock, Herman (b. 1940) & Jaco Groot (b. 1942, De Harmonie publishers). Archive of correspondence,

original poems, a complete typescript book, newspaper and magazine clippings etc., the original material typescript or in pen, all but a few items by or concerning the poet and author Herman Mock (b. 1940), partly under his pseudonym Kaspar Shapiro. Intriguing sm. archive comprising approx. 55 items, incl. a.o.: (1) Letter in pen to "Beste Jaco" [Groot], (10) p., undated, on "Poëzie en Jazz", signed "Kaspar Sh." Incl. handwritten versions of the poems "Blues", "Mulligan", "Fontessa", "Contemplation" and "Atonaal schrift naar Thelonious Monk". Of the poems Blues and Mulligan, clippings w. published versions are present in the lot. (2) Letter in pen to "Jaco", undated, (2) p., signed "Kaspar". "Da's niet best. Dat heb je van zo'n bandeloze generatie: al dat gedonderjaag eindigt, met een gescheurde long in het bed, plat op de rug, gedoemd tot onthouding van aktie. In ieder geval moet je maar weer zo gauw mogelijk zien op de been te komen en weer beginnen met gedonderjaag. (...). Ik ben momenteel wèl bezig met teksten voor fotoos van Sanne Sannes, voor Vrij Nederland; ik weet niet of daar wat in zit, want het is een wanstaltig warrige boy, met waterverf ideeën". (3) Typescript draft for a book, 164 A4 lvs printed on 1 side only, w. col. frontisp. in pen ("Voor Elizabeth" [Groot]) and 36 drawings in pen or in pencil on smaller lvs, all depicting members of the mouse family De Ridder, loose. The lot also contains a typescript letter to Jaco Groot, signed "Hans Andreus" in pen, commenting on a bundle of poems "Ervaren en gebeuren" by Groot, apparently never published.
