[Original artwork] Toonder, Marten (1912-2005). Six original drawings
Mixed technique (pencil with watercol.) on graph paper that was removed from a school notebook. A short story of 'a train journey from Amsterdam to Weesp by a gentleman who almost sees that undertaking thwarted by a sloppy wagon coupling, so that he needs a trick to still reach his final destination by rail'. Told and drawn by Marten Toonder for his son Eiso, who did the colouring and wrote texts on verso side of the drawings in blue pencil. Donated to the museum Bommelzolder in 2008 by Eiso Toonder, who created a 'Certificaat van Authenticiteit' for the occasion (added to the lot). Each sheet 20.5 x 16.5 cm.
