All numb. in old manuscr. in blank upper right corner. Elegantly bound in full calf in antique style, gilt-tooled, by La Feuille de Pélain, Michel Fassin (Barchon), obl. 4to. Preserved in marbled board slipcase w. leather trims. Some plates slightly browned/ foxed. Because of the binder's indexing method, some discrepancies in plate numbering occur (e.g. plate 165 contains two maps; plate 166 - Holland and West-Vriesland - is lacking; manuscr. numbering continues with 167). Extra plates (unless the index means 2 plates w. "Nerva met de Veldslag" and "Plan van Vigos met de haven") in our copy are a plan of Orsova, a fold. plan of Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, a map of Corsica, a view of the harbour of Vigo, a view of the battle at Nerva, a map of Crimea and a print of the French kings (no. 36, consisting of 2 plates). In all, a very good copy in a splendid, luxurious binding.
