Cont. speckled calf w. (defective) ties, gilt and ribbed spine. Without the title-p., otherwise a very good copy w. only minor internal and external defects. With loosely inserted 11-p. list of the maps and 2-p. index (both almost certainly (near) contemporary).

Pastoureau, Sanson VI, p. 418-426 (mentions 83 maps only). Only a few incomplete and differently composed copies traced at auction and institutional collections worldwide. These typically contain 83 maps (also lacking title-p., w. 9 other maps bound in) and fewer maps. This copy has a relatively large number of maps. Two copies described by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France note: "Les exemplaires consultés étant incomplets, nous décrivons un exemplaire-type fictif en suivant l'ordre de la table des matières de l'exemplaire." The mentioned indexes (probably manuscript and without the atlas itself): "La Celtique" (62 maps) and "La Belgique" (84) maps. Another known example has later issued maps like ours as well: "Ce volume ne comporte que 77 cartes dont 4 ne sont pas recensées dans la table. (...). Plusieurs cartes figurent ici dans une édition postérieure à 1676, date de la page de titre."
