Marcel Duchamp. Rotoreliefs, Serie 133

Cologne, Gebr. König Postkartenverlag, 1987. Six cardstock discs, offset printed on both sides in colour, housed in a printed vellum sleeve. Comprises a facsimile reproduction of Duchamp's iconic multiple 'Rotoreliefs cerceaux série 133', from 1935.

The discs were intended to rotate on a turntable at 40- 60 rpm, creating an illusion of depth when spun at the correct speed. The original version was published in an edition of 500 and offered for sale at the Concours Lépine Inventor's Fair. This 1987 König multiple is published in an unspecified number and is no longer in print. Vellum envelope toned, with modest soiling to the rear; all discs in excellent condition.
