(ca. 1750), letter print title page with text in Latin and German side by side and 100 engraved plates, binding by Laurent Claessens (1828-1909): half-leather using older gilt spine strip dated 1770, oblong folio.

When newly bound, title pasted, first pages and final endpaper loose(ning), overall a very fine copy. The first edition of this special illustrated bible appeared in 1748 (with date on title page), and in 1757 an edition appeared with the date on the title. Our edition has no date and a slightly different address, it appears to be rare than the dated editions. Another detail about this copy is that it used to belong to the Franciscan college in Tielt, annotation between Latin and German title in pen neatly reads: "Conventus Thiletani FF Min Recollectorum Maneal In Cella VAP Guardiani Anno 1770."
