PASSED

[Press photos train attack Biatorbágy] Series of 6 press photos,

each 18 x 24 cm., and with stamp of "Magyar Fil Iroda" (Budapest) on reverse, made shortly after 13 September 1931.

Beautiful series depicting the material consequences of the attack of 13 September 1931. The attack was carried out by Szilveszter Matuska (or Sylvestre Matuschka, 1892 – disappeared ca. 1945), possibly with sexual motives. He used dynamite to successfully blow up part of the bridge. More than 20 people died and 120 were wounded. He later escaped from prison and avoided his punishment. For more information, see: http://murderpedia.org/male.M/m/matuschka.htm.
