[Pre-war Rotterdam] Collection of hundreds of b/w negatives concerning Rotterdam,

consisting of 70 rectangular glass negatives (9 x 12 cm.) and hundreds of square flexible negatives (ca. 6 x 6 cm.), kept in ca. 170 original envelopes dated 1930-1940 and with serial numbers.

Very interesting press archive, all envelopes are carefully numbered (mainly with 4 digits) with exact date and subject, many of the envelopes are stamped "Vóór mei 1940". Many envelopes also bear prints, for example of the Foto-Redactie Katholieke Illustratie (Haarlem), Redactie De Stad Amsterdam or N.V. Drukkerij De Spaarnestad (Haarlem). The collection contains many series, such as glass negatives "3096-3208 Serie luchtvaartschool" and "1239-1245 het harm. orkest" and flexible negatives "4867 t/m 4878 Hefbrug"; "8009-8022 vrouwelijke hulp"; "4608 t/m 4620 Poppenfabriek"; "4457 t/m 4471 Comité voor het verstrekken van babyuitzetten in januari"; "3444 t/m 3456 Consultatie bureau Vereeniging ter bestrijding der Tuberculose" and "9822 t/m 9828 Drijfijs op de Maas", to name a few. The archive was treated at a later date by adding modern paper and plastic folders. With: 54 similar flexible negatives (6 x 6 cm.) in later box with inscription: "Roos van Rotterdam + negatieven".
