[Early satirical photomontage] Maurice Binger, Les nouveaux Musées d'Europe. La Belgique

Édité à l'occasion des noces d'argent de Mr. et Mme Per Lamm. Brussels, no publisher, "7 février 1907", lithographed frontispiece, letterpress half title and title page, followed by 13 photogravures of [satirically altered] famous paintings, with another 55 blank pages, original printed cloth (bookblock tender).

Curious, extremely rare single publication, no other copies detected (possible a single copy). The faces of the characters depicted in the photographic illustrations have been expertly replaced by those of various other characters. The publication looks deceptively like a serious publication, on the reverse of the half title it is even mentioned that a new volume in the series is being prepared. But the frontispiece and front cover (identical illustration) list 7 March as date for the occasion.
