Both small folio, parchment. (9),899,(26),(1) and (2),333,(8) pp. Illus. frontispiece with title by Joachim Sandrart and Theodor Mathem and the second volume with title and Blaeus printer's vignette. Binding and first leaf of volume one with damage and reparation, else good. In 1642 "Neederlandsche Histoorien" was published at Louis Elsevier in Amsterdam. This monumental work describes the period from 1555 (the abdication of Charles V) up to the murder of Willem of Orange in 1584. In 1654 "Vervolgh der Neederlandsche historien" appeared at Joan Blaeu, containing his description of Dutch history up to the year 1587. (Source: Wikipedia.) (total 2)
