The first English edition of a volume of Edouard de Montulé's "Voyage en Amérique, en Italie, en Sicile et en Egypte, pendant les années 1816, 1817, 1818 et 1819", published in the same year. De Montulé's account of his voyages consisted of 77 letters, 19 of which are included included in this English translation. These 19 letters concern his visits to New York, Philadelphia, St. Thomas, St. Domingo, Port Royal, Jamaica, Kingston, Jamaica, the Mississippi, Louisville, Pittsburg, Buffaloe and Albany. The plates depict an encounter with a rattlesnake, a view of New York, St. Domingo harbour, the Niagara falls, Sint Thomas and a mammoth skeleton (Philadelphia Museum).
