[WWI, Hitler’s first regiment] Die Feuertaufe des “List”-Regiments

(29. Oktober – 1. November 1914). Geschildert von dem Mitkämpfer Hans Konrad, München. Stenciled report, title page and 38 numbered one-sided leaves, original blue cloth with title in silver printed letters on front, 4to (minimal defects).

Extremely rare, possibly even unique because we were unable to trace any other copy. With here and there corrections, deletions and additions in pencil. Heartbreaking account of the horrible first four days in the war of the Königlich Bayerisches 16. Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment, which was granted the honourable title “List-Regiment” because its commander, Julius List, fell in battle on 31 October. However, the regiment is mostly famous because Adolf Hitler served in its ranks. See https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6niglich_Bayerisches_16._Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment. The name Hans Konrad appears on the Bayerische Verlustliste No. 120 of 15.12.1914, when he was lightly wounded.
