[Deluxe copy with 12 extra etchings] J.-K. Huysmans. La Bièvre

Les gobelins Saint-Séverin. Paris, published by the Société de Propagation de Livres D'art, 1901, printed by A. Lahure in 1900 in 695 copies (75), (6),148,(1) p., with 4 etchings by Auguste Lepère [extra etchings see below] and 30 illustrations in the text, finely bound in dark green morocco by Marius Michel, the decoration on the boards inlaid with coloured leather, preservering the original wrapper, leather inside of boards and silk/marbled free endpapers, all edges gilt, large 8vo (4to size), in slipcase.

The leather across the edge of the outer corners of the boards is damaged, the spine is discoloured. Slipcase with a few small defects. Still a good copy, inside in very good condition. Copy of the deluxe edition of 75 copies for Librairie Conquet, Carteret et Cie, this is number 46, with ex libris of A. (Antoine) Vautier. Bound along with the deluxe edition, bound in beautiful Art Nouveau style, the book "La Bièvre St. Séverin, dix aux fortes par Auguste Lepère", printed in green, red and brown in 80 copies (40), including the wrapper and the prospectus for this work (6 p. text). Here, it is number 21 of 40 copies on Chinese paper, with signed dedication "Offert à monsieur Vautier, A. Lepère 1901" and signed again at the end. The 12 etchings signed and numbered in pencil are included in Huysmans's book.
