[Utrechtse Kunstkring/ Shelfish-club] Collection of more than 30 ephemera,

incl. several doubles, 1882-1891, mostly single-leafed announcements in various sizes, each time with illustration(s), mostly with address (?) "Nikerk Hof-druk" and partly with printed signature of A.G.A. van Rappard, 1st secretary (in varying condition).

Lovely collection (very) rare ephemera; those by the Shelfish-club have a satirical character. Many of the invitiations explicitly request the members to bring along "ladies" (e.g. "bijeenkomst met dames" or "elk lid met 2 dames"). Contains e.g. the rules of the Shelfish club as established by chairman Simon van Adelberg and J.L. Beijers (1882, 8 p., original cover); Shelfish-courant of 3 May 1884; Shelfish--Feestgids, Eerste Eeuwgang No 2. (Utr., F.B. van Ditmar, 1887, 32 p.) and announcements of Shelfish evenings; furthermore announcements of "Kunstavonden" (with names such as Th. de Bock, G.H. Breitner, H.J. Haverman, P. de Josselin de Jong, J. Voerman, L.W.R. Wenckebach and J.H. Wijsmüller). Also contains the card with announcement of the Algemeene Vergadering on Saturday 9 May 1891 "Te behandelen: Voorstel van het Bestuur tot Ontbinding der Vereeniging".
