en Latynsche beschryvingen. Amsterdam, J.C. Sepp en Zoon, 1796-1803, 6 vols., with 6 engraved titles (3x identical and dated 1795 and 3x identical and dated 1800), with 600 handcoloured plates and in each vol. ± 100 accompanying letterpress pages (besides the lists of subscribers and the indices) with text in Dutch and in Latin in parallel columns, contemporary (near-)uniform marbled calf, gilt borders along edges of boards, ribbed and gilt backs with 2 contrasting morocco letterpieces.

Fine set with some traces of use and occ. wear to leather (bumped corners, worn patches); lacks spine head of vol. 6. With modern owner's name in ballpoint and 19th-century owner's name in fountain pen ("L.K. Veldeman m.d.") on the half titles. The first two vols. differ from the other four in details. A seventh vol. was issued in 1813, which is nearly always lacking. A second part to be added was announced, but never issued. Vol. 1 by D.L. Oskamp, vol. 2-4 by M. Houttuijn and vol. 5-6 by J.C.
