[Music. Signature George Eastman] Archive Elise Heriette (Titi) Fermin (1903-1994)

Archive with programmes, photos and clippings. Incl. typed note by George Eastman on stationery of his office, dated 18 July 1927, with a personal note of thanks to Adelin Fermin and Titi Fermin and signed in pen by Eastman; card addressed to Titi Fermin with signatures of Pierre Augiéras and others; a friendship album with most contributions dated Rochester, 1924-25; Titi's agenda (with bookplate) with manuscript concert programmes (with length of pieces) and clippings, 1935-1958; a Graphologische Analyse (handwriting analysis) of Titi van Lennep, 1927; commemorative book The 1936 Score, published by the Junior Class Eastman School of Music, with word of thanks to Adelin 'Daddy' Fermin.

Adelin Fermin (1867-1941) was a faculty member at the Eastman School of Music during the early days of the school, where he was known as 'Daddy Fermin'. He also taught singing in the Netherlands and had a successful career in Europe, where he sang for Queen Wilhelmina in The Hague and the Prince of Wales in London. Until 1912, Fermin was married to Elise Henriette Adrienne Apol (therafter Van Lennep), with whom he had a daughter: Elise Heriette (Titi) Fermin (1903-1994). Titi was a concert singer (soprano) and singing teacher. George Eastman (1854-1932) was the founder of Eastman Kodak and the Eastman School of Music (named after him), where Adelin worked.
