[Speculative trade, 1st half 18th century] Five leaves with texts in pen and ink

all in the same handwriting and 33 x 20.5 cm., on paper with watermark coat of arms of Amsterdam and initials "WIB".

All with turned and pasted left margin. Lovely, witty texts, almost certainly regarding the speculative financial trade surrounding Scotsman John Law, which ended in 1720, in the style of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid from 1720. Contains: (1) "Wonderleijke verandering van een cieroopvat in een paleijs", splendid satirical rhyme, one page, 23 lines; (2) "Aenspraak aan de Amsterdamse Maagt", similar poem to (1), one page, 20 lines; (3) "Pasquille", similar poem to (1-2), two pages; (4) "Echo - Weergalm", satirical Q&A game which includes the names Looten, Van Swieten and Huygens, together with a poem of 8 lines on one page; (5) "Pasquille", 22 short rhyming sayings, including the names Joost le Candele, Gerrit Bekker and Jacob Looten, e.g. number 17: "Wel wat is dat voor een baes/ hij loopt gelijk een ouwe haas/ hij is wel op het snoepen/ let wel/ gaat nog wel eens uyt P..."
