Ex collection Hans van Leeuwen (1911-2010), with his collector's stamp (Lugt 2799a) verso. RKD: "Van Leeuwen was van 1947 tot 1960 manager van het Concertgebouworkest en daarna tot 1976 directeur van het Utrechts Symphonieorkest. Vanaf 1948 bouwde hij een veelzijdige kunstcollectie op. In eerste instantie ging zijn aandacht uit naar tekeningen uit de periode 1750-1850. De collectie is in 1992 en 1999 grotendeels geveild bij Christie's Amsterdam (...)." Three catalogues exist (The Hans van Leeuwen collection, 1992-1999) as well as various exhibition catalogues. Mount with number 262, possibly the number under which this drawing was auctioned off at the time; (2) (Group of trees). Drawing in India ink on cardboard, 15 x 9.5 cm., monogrammed "S.M.v.H." and dated "8 nov. 1888" in pencil. On verso of a calligraphed menu with date "8 Novembre 1888" and later addition in pencil: "Bruiloft Martin Mouton". (total 2)
