Family archive Leendert Krol c. 1880-1985

Large archive consisting of a collection of 19th- and 20th-century photos, documents, scrapbooks and a family tree of Leendert Krol and family. This family from Drenthe (Netherlands) left in 1894 for Menando, Dutch East Indies. One descendant became Vice-president van de Raad van Justitie in Indië, another owned a tea plantation, until return in the '50s. Incl. photo album with (gelatin silver) photos, cabinet cards and inscriptions, letters, passports of Jan Krol (cadet KMA) and Anna Krol-Kamp, c. 1880-1950, as Cadet and as tea planter on Djakarta, ± 200. And 7 large-size portraits with mounts, two framed, incl. two in gelatin silver prints, late 19th century. Incl. Gerardus Krol, Antoinette Krol, Leendert D.G. Krol.

With: a smaller framed family portrait of Leendert Krol with wife and children, and a group photo from the Indies, early '20s + family tree, calligraphed on paper. From Jan Jansz. Half written + file with some 30 letters from Jan Th. and Tine Krol to relatives in the Netherlands 1946-1957 + file of Stichting Familie-Archief Krol, with letters from relatives amongst themselves from the '80s.
