Gabrielle Ferrand (1887-1984). (View of the Borobodur).

Drawing in black chalk finished as watercolour and with very tight grid in pencil, 29.5 x 44 cm., monogrammed bottom right (several minor (taped) tears).

The grid reveals Ferrand's meticulous work method, in addition to the minute indications in the sketchbook from the previous lot. Thanks to the grid, Ferrand was able to enlarge the drawing in order to, for example, make a precise copy in oil.
