[Genealogy and heraldry. De Rouck] Exceptional copy: Den Nederlandtschen herauld,

ofte Tractaet van wapenen en politycken adel, door Thomas de Rouck. Printed at Leiden by Willem Christens vander Boxe for Jan Janssen at Amsterdam, 1645, two parts in one volume, (20),370; (2),56 p., with many engraved and woodcut illustrations, contemporary speckled, polished and gilt calf, ribbed, gilt back, remains of ties, folio.

Some browning/ foxing as usual. Joints split/ fragile on inside/ outside. Exceptional copy with handwritten bookplate of Count Jan Jacob Nahuys (1801-1864) to inside front board (dated 1829), and with his signature in pen and heraldic blind stamp to/ in the title page. This copy also contains many leaves with annotations, undoubtedly by Nahuys, pasted to the inside margins of the printed leaves. The earliest Dutch work in this field in first edition, reprinted in 1672 and 1673.
