Bart Huges. "Homo sapiens correctus"

(The Mechanism of brain Blood Volume). (Amsterdam, 1964), scroll-shaped publication, 280 x 44.5 cm., with text in English bordering 10 illustrations, title in red felt-tip pen, illustrations handcoloured in felt-tip pen and with shading in red and blue pen, with at the top dedication "Voor Bert Schierbeek van Bart Huges. No 26" and at the bottom inscription "Made in prison. Copy rights fl.100.000,-, Bart Huges". Copy in exceptionally good condition, brightly coloured without any damage.

Very rare publication issued in Dutch, German and English. In this text, Huges claims that trepanning - drilling a hole in one's skull - will have a positive (i.e. mind-expanding) effect on the brain due to an improved balance of bodily fluids in the brain and the spinal cord. On 6 January 1965 he drilled a hole in his own forehead, making him instantly famous.
