Imbrecht in Amsterdam, 1664, 6 parts in one volume, (14),72;108,(8);437,(13); 400;16; 12,(4) p., with engraved frontispiece, 4 portraits of the princes [no portrait with William III as in the digitised copy] and another 13 portraits, 12 folding plates with the part on Maurice and 12 folding plates with the part on Frederick Henry, contemporary turned vellum, stout small 8vo.

Frontispiece damaged in bottom corner and pasted, title page tender; several folding plates (mostly battles) with small tear and trimmed/ curled on plate edge; leaf R2 lacks a piece with loss to glosses; contemporary/ old owner's marks stamped by V.R.S. van Marle to free blanks. Relatively rare work. Arnoldus Montanus (1625-1683) was a Dutch theologian and historian. He was a minister of the Reformed church first at Schellingwoude and then at Schoonhoven. He published books on various subjects, often related to history, religion or geography. His book De Nieuwe en Onbekende Weereld from 1671 was considered a standard work in Europe at the time.
