[Almanacs. Book bindings] 2 items: (1) Van Zwaamen en Thompsons Almanak, voor (...) 1834.

Voorzien met de jaarmarkten, kermissen, paarde, beeste- en leermarkten (...). Rotterdam, T.L. Thompson, (1833), unpaginated, with woodcut title illustration on the main title and on an intertitle, double-page woodcut maps of the Netherlands and of the province of Zeeland, a "Stedenwyzer", 12 small woodcuts with the months, many letterpress tables, contemporary green vellum with flap, front and back board with blindstamped crowned coat of arms above the word "Marine" and both boards also with pocket for insertion of loose items, 12mo.

Lovely almanac in a fine binding specifically made for marines. The back board has a protruding vellum flap, which can be inserted into the pocket of the front board to turn it into a tight pocketbook. The first part is interleaved with 12 leaves with on both sides the days of the week, as an agenda (unused). Also contains a Tijdwijzer with departure times for ferries, trekschuiten, coaches etc., a Tafel van vergelyking der oude graanmaat met de nieuwe Nederlandsche, a description of Zeeland and a specieboek. The almanac also contains a number of blank leaves and leaves with manuscript annotations. And with 1 similar other work: (2) Stichtse Almanach, op 't jaar (...) 1810, Utrecht, J. Altheer etc., (1809), original green vellum wallet-binding with tie, 12mo. (total 2)
