A very good copy of the sought-after 4to-edition, published in the same year as the 12mo pocket edition by Marcus Wilhelmsen Doornik. The profile (24 x 45 cm, with a few sm. tears (on folds)); view of the town hall w. small dam./ thin spot; occas. sl. foxed and a few other sm. defects; 1 plate misbound (p. 323 instead of 223). Endpapers renewed. Provenance: with annotation in pen "Liber monasterii Sti. Michaëlis" [place?] "Jacobo per abbate ab 1699" and with intriguing 17th-century owner's entry "Constat á Ash" [?] on title p. Also with 19th-century owner's entry "Ex libris H. Lubonchere" on first free endpaper.
