[Historical prints] Collection of ca. 35 miscellaneous historical prints

17th-19th century, various techniques and sizes.

Comprises a.o.: 1) Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708). (The lynching party of the brothers De Witt). Etching, 31.5 x 40 cm incorporating 4 horrible scenes of each 15.5 x 20 cm, all signed in the plate, 1x dated 672 in the plate. Folds; closed tear in left margin. See other items converning the brothers De Witt in this auction; (2) "De schatzoekers by Muyden, in de nacht tusschen den 12den en 13den augustus ao. 1800." Anonymous etching, 16 x 22 cm, mounted at upper margin. Trimmed on the platemark. Very rare; 3) "Het verblijf der schipbreukelingen van de gestrande stoomboot Willem de Ie op de koraalplaat Lucipara". Lithograph, 28.5 x 32 cm, with very fainly lithographed address and title, (1837). The image itself finely printed w. much contrast; (4) "Raadsel van Nijmegen voorgesteld in eene schilderij anno 1619. Hangende in de voorzaal van het stadhuis aldaar."Chromolithograph by Jos. Vas Dias & Co., sheet size 22 x 28 cm, with explanatory text below, published by Firmaq H. ten Hoet in Nijmegen, ca. 1870 (sl. creased/ vague folds). And ca. 30 others, including prints of funeral monuments and 5 (of ?) beautifully etched plates after Pieter Nolpe on the triumphal entry of Maria Stuart on 15 June, 1660 (tears). (total ca. 35)
