Posters by the Conseil pour le Maintien des Occupations

Two posters, 49.5 x 36.5 cm, produced by the CMDO during the May '68 riots in Paris. The organization was formed on May 17 1968 by supporters of the first Occupation Committee of the Sorbonne and included Situationists, Enrages (among them Debord, Khayati, Riesel and Vaneigem) as well as workers and students.

The messages on the posters read: 'A bas la Société Spectaculaire-Marchande/ Down with the Spectacle-Commodity Society' and 'Abolition de la Société de Classe/Abolition of Class Society'. The first poster was formerly folded and shows repaired sections and pinholes on corners. The latter poster is a fine unfolded copy, with a tiny abrasion on the lower left corner. (total 2)
