Women's Graphics Collective, In Celebration of Amazons

Poster announcing the Midwest Lesbian Conference and Music Festival in East Lansing Michigan, May 17-19, 1974. Silkscreened print, 89 x 58 cm, produced by the Chicago based collective.

Features a large stylized image of a black horse jumping over a glowing yellow orb, carrying two Amazones on his back. Vibrant design with a blue background and silver printed axes. Damage along the white margin at the top not affecting the image. Moderate scuffing along the extremities. lower margin has slight toning and creases, generally a fresh copy. *The Chicago Women's Graphics Collective was set up in 1970 to provide high quality feminist posters for the growing women's liberation movement. They originally used silkscreen to produce their colourful posters because it was inexpensive and the production could be done in members' apartments.
