Amsterdam Jewish artists couple Galinka Ehrenfest and her husband Jacob Kloot created a fantastic series of children's books under pseudonym El Pintor during WWII for which they asked the cooperation of several other authors and artists. The books were popular, both in the Netherlands and in Germany. The profits were mainly used to aid to people hiding and the Resistance movement. After Jacob was killed in Sobibor in 1943, Galinka proceeded. The last title in the series was published in 1946. (total 7)
