Both vols. occas. browned/ foxed, vol. 1 also w. occas. waterst. in blank margins. Both vols. leather sl. stained at covers and sl. worn at spine-ends and outer corners. A good copy from the library of S.E. Neugebauer, with his engr. bookplate on upper pastedown of both volumes. (2) Diderot & Gessner. Contes moreaux et nouvelles idylles de D... [= Denis Diderot] et Salomon Gessner. Zurich, "chez l'auteur", 1773/ 1777, 2 parts in 1 vol., (16),184; 190,(1) p., each part with engr. title, 10 fine engraved plates and a number of engr. head- and tailpieces by Salomon Gessner, contemp. marbled calf with gilt borders around sides, gilt and ribbed spine w. mor. letterpiece, 4to. Occ. sl. foxed. Joints splitting and spine-ends chipped, corners showing. An acceptable copy with owner's stamp "Van Arkel" on first blank. (total 2 illustrated works in 3 vols.)
