A good copy with the following sm. defects: sm. waterstain in first few textlvs. of the first part. Lower joint splitting at foot of spine; leather sl. rubbed/ dry. Caillet II, 4046. First edition of this French translation (a second one with the same address appeared already in 1730). It is translated from the second English edition titled 'The political history of the Devil' (1727), of which the first edition was published in 1726. Not surprisingly, the book was put on the Index in 1744.
