[Puppet show] Guido van Deth

Van Deth founded his puppet theatre in The Hague in 1946 with the intention to let the theatre rise above the level of common theatre. After his death, his wife Felicia continued the theatre. It remained operational until 2000, after which the collection of handmade puppets was transferred to the Museon. This extensive and well-documented album shows one or more hand-drawn and watercolour puppets on each page, and a complete list inserted at the back of the puppets depicted; the type of puppet and when and where it was found. *Dohm was an authority on children's books. Her book collection has been transferred to the Special Collections Library, University of Michigan.
