8vo. 6 volumes, half leather, title on spine in black and gilt stamping, 6x title page with illustrated vignette by R. Vinkeles (3x) and De L'Esdain (3x). Bindings with light rubbing and with traces of use. Interior very good. All 600 plates in detailed contemporary colouring. Each volume contains 100 hand-coloured copperplates of medicinal plants and herbs with short description in Dutch (from Houttuyn's Natuurlijke Historie) and in Latin (from Gmelin's edition of Linnaeus's Systema Natura) and an explanation of their pharmaceutical use in Dutch, adapted and translated by Dirk Leonard Oskamp, Martin Houttuyn and Johan Carl Krauss. First and only edition of this Dutch translation. The supplement by Ypey published in 1813 is not included here.
