D. Petavii (...) Rationarum Temporum in partes duas,

libros tredecim, distributum (...). Editio novissima (...). Leiden, P. van der Aa, 1710, (32),919,(9) p. (628 to 736 omitted as indicated on leaf Zz 51), with engraved frontispiece portrait, an engraved plate with the author in a library, 4 (very large) folding engraved maps and 8 engraved plates each with 7-9 portraits, contemporary speckled calf, gilt back with raised bands with morocco title shield.

The second large map with some tears and creases, here and there light tanning, yet a good copy. Contains two fine maps of 38 x 87/ 82 cm., both printed on two connected leaves and each with two cartouches, these two maps may sometimes be bound as 4 maps, reducing their impact but supposedly better for the bookblock. See extensively on author Dénis Petau (1583-1652): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis_P%C3%A9tau. This work first appeared in 1633-1634.
