Ex library copy with scattered stamps ("afgeschreven"). With dedication in pen on front cover "Den Heer Luitjes presentex." and with the owner's stamp of F.E. Luitjes on the title. Rare, only 2 copies in PiCarta; (2) De eerste vestiging der Nederlanders in Indië [door A.G.C. van Duyl]. (Amsterdam), Maatschappij Tot Nut van 't Algemeen, (1859), 48 p., contemporary gilt-lettered cloth, 4to (lacks backstrip, front board almost loose). With handwritten name of and by the author on the title page and with signed dedication on the first blank: "To the New York Historical Society from A.G.C. van Duyl of Amsterdam, S.A., Aug. 1867" (only two copies in PiCarta); (3) Batavia in 1858.
