[China. Beijing] A Map and History of Peiping.

Formerly known as Peking; capital of provinces, princedoms and kongdoms since 1121 B.C. (...) and now a city which will live long in the memory of man as one of the greatest the world has ever known. Beijing, Frank Dorn, 1936 (lithographed and published by Peyang Press, Ltd., Tientsin-Peking), colourlithographic plan, 82.5 x 71 cm., folded in the original paper portfolio (8.5 x 14 cm.), with the text book in the same size by Frank Dorn, 22 p., original wrapper with spine made of yellow tape (as with another copy traced by us).

Map expertly restored/ reinforced with very thin paper on spine and on folds, also the very fragile portfolio finely restored and preserved. The book with taped spine and browned at beginning and end, and with empty envelope on the inside of the back cover (folded, the map is currently too thick to fit in it). Rare, especially in this original condition.
