Cervantes. Don Quichotte.

Traduit par X. de Cardaillac et J. Labarthe et orné de bois originaux de Hermann Paul. Liège, Les Éditions du Balancier (I-II)/ Maastricht, Leiter-Nypels S.A. (III-IV), 1929-1931, printed in black, blue and red in 375 numbered copies (unnumbered copy on (simili-)Japon), 2 parts in 4 volumes, with 250 woodcut illustrations, initials by S.H. de Roos and typography by Ch. Nypels, original uniform wrapper, in chemises and slipcases, 4to.

Volume 3 without paper labels on front board and spine of the chemise. Else a good copy, with the cordbound prospectus (16 p., 10 woodcuts) separately included with the first volume. The colophon mentions 10 copies published on Japon impérial (with extra suites and original drawings per 2 of the 4 colophons) and 35 copies hors commerce on various kinds of paper, our copy has to belong to one of those editions, yet is unnumbered (possibly a proof?). The remaining 330 copies are on Hollands papier de Haesbeek.
