Heinrich Weber (1892-1962). Salubra carpet designs. Series of 24 leaves
All with design in gouache and with leaf dimensions 65 x 50 cm. (2x slightly smaller), all but a few with 5-digit code on reverse, 8 with stamp on reverse: "Salubra A.G. Basel" (2x), "Atelier Salubra" (1x), "Heinrich Weber Birsfelden b. Basel" (1x) and "Zoll 1-10" (3x).
Several leaves with small marginal tears, several with repaired tears, several with small lacking pieces from blank margins. For nearly half a century, Weber was associated with the Swiss carpet manufacturer Salubra (which also employed Le Corbusier), first as a designer, then as head of the art department and finally as board member. We were unable to verify whether he made the designs himself or supervised the design work. (total 24 leaves)
