Inhoudende: zestig gezelschapsspelen, 75 pand-inlossingen, tien profeteerkunsten (...) een nieuwen alphabetischen droomuitlegger en 75 toasten en tafelzangen. Veel verbeterd door J. Schenkman. Vierde druk. Amsterdam, printed at Gebr. Van Asperen van der Velde for G. Theod. Bom, n.d. (c. 1860), VIII,168,(8) p., contemporary half cloth, small 8vo.

Poor copy, the bookseller's list at the end (8 p.) lacks one or more pages; half title lacks strip along the top, various leaves loose and frayed, binding worn. Extremely rare fourth edition, no other copies traces. PiCarta lists only the sixth (c. 1875) and later editions (often as De Vroolijke pretmaker), the British Library has the fifth edition from 1867. The only thing known about the first edition is that it appeared in 1855. Also of importance due to the list of books published by G. Theod. Bom at the end, of which the publisher already says himself: "NB. Van verschillende Artikelen zijn slechts zeer kleine aantallen voorhanden"; (2) Kappipo, uitgegeven door R. Koopmans van Boekeren. Leiden, A.W. Sijthoff, n.d. (1871), with lithographed frontispiece portrait and 3 plates, original blindstamped cloth with gilt back. P. 33-81 contain a "facsimile" of the handwritten story of Kappipo (= a young Rinse Koopmans van Boekeren) itself, illustrated with drawings; (3) Notenkraker en muizenkoning.
