Drawing in pen of the Dutch East Indies Company ship Drietal Handelaars, finished as watercolour, 52.5 x 62 cm., dated 1789 and "gemaakt door Hendrik Jansen Nagtegaal" in pen, in frame.
Minimal defects (e.g. small hole), trifle discoloured, yet in good condition (especially for a drawing this size). Not inspected outside frame. Reverse list with annotation by restorer T.J. Throns (cleaned), dated 1970. The V.O.C. ship Drietal Handelaars (tonnage 502, 33 crew) was in active service with the V.O.C. from 1787 to 1789 when it was lost at the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa (cf. VOCsite).
