[With signed dedication] Photographic portrait of violinist Joseph Joachim (1831-1907)

Portrait photo with address of J.C. Schaarwächter (Berlin) and "Photo-Crayon" at the bottom, 14.5 x 10 cm., with below the photo on the mount dedication "Den lieben verehrten Freunden in treuen Gedenken [signed:] Joseph Joachim, Berlin, den 12ten Juni 1895", in frame.

Holder slightly yellowed and some foxing, frame with minor damage. Fine portrait photo. Joseph Georg Maria Joachim (1831-1907), German violinist, composer and violin pedagogue of Hungarian descent, founder of modern violin technique. As a violinist he comes second in terms of virtuosity, after Paganini. See very extensively on him:
