[Militaria] Two occasional albums Generaal-Majoor J.A. Makkink

Unique elephant folio albums made for Generaal-Majoor J.A. Makkink (active service 1946-1981, passed away in 2009). Album (1) for the occasion of his farewell as Commander of 1 Divisie "7 December", 2 October 1979. Faux-leather oblong album (35 x 45 cm.) with gilt lettering. With 67 unnumbered pp. with photos, illustrations and clippings by or of the various units of the division. Incl. several cartoons in which Makkink and his leadership style are affectionally mocked, and finely finished unit insignia. Album (2) for the occasion of Makkink's farewell as Commander of the Commando Opleiding Koninklijke Landmacht and thus the end of his military career. Faux-leather oblong album (41 x 60 cm.) with gilt lettering. With 138 unnumbered pp. with mostly photos (colour and b/w) of soldiers, army units, material, etc.

Albums in cloth slipcases. In good condition. Added: loose documents e.g. for awards received by Makkink (e.g. Knight of the Order of the Netherlands Lion) and farewell speeches with handwritten corrections) (incl. copies). (total 2)
