[Japan] Album with 50 pasted, handcoloured photos on 25 cardboard leaves,

Japan, c. 1900, all photos 19.5 x 25 cm., 37 photos with printed English title, bound between lacquered wooden boards rebacked with cloth with part of the original gilt leather backstrip pasted, front board with photographic river view printed in gold, all edges gilt, oblong folio.

Cardboard leaves with occ. foxing (first and last with some browning due to endpapers), remainder inside in very good condition. Lacquering occ. damaged to edges and some small scratches (incl. photo on front board). Exceptional album, we traced a similar album with many photos attributed to Kusakabe or Tamamura.
