Contents very good, with only a few occas. small tears and very small other defects. Portfolio defective: front cover and flaps loose, spine head missing. Scarce map. Amsterdam was divided in "buurten" (neighbourhoods) in 1851, giving publishers the opportunity to create and sell new atlases of the city, with a map for each new neighbourhood. The most important atlas was the one published by Loman, on which also the numbering of the houses implemented in 1875 is indicated. Besides the "Aanduiding der teekens" of the various buildings, also lists "brandschellen", "lantarens", "tramway", "hoofd riolen", "hoofdbuis van het liernurstelsel" and even "urinoirs".
