Large folio, rebound, half leather, marbled cardboard sides, gilt-stamped title on spine, [19] p. and 37 double-page images with photo-lithographies by W. Griggs, London. With errata-leaf on endpaper and stamp of the Trustees of the Brits Museum on title page. The scroll with the manuscript of the "Papyrus of Ani" was bought by Sir E.A. Wallis Budge in 1888 for the collection of the British Museum; the scroll was cut in 37 pieces and thusly shipped from Egypt to England. Two years later (1890) this first edition with the first translation of this old script appeared. In good condition.
