Folio, half-leather, marbled cardboard plates, 3 spines uniformly bound, title on spine in black and gold print, edges marbled, (12),295;(11),296-545;(16),547-902 pp., complete with 146, 109 and 109 polychrome collotype plates in the style of M. W. en F. von Wright and B. Hallberg. This is the expanded and improved second edition. (The first edition from 1828-38 with 184 plates). The extra plates are the copies of the originals from the University of Helsingfors and the Royal Academy of Sciences in Stockholm. The plates are printed by A. Boertzell in beautiful quality.
