Iconic photograph of Indians, the women in this Indian family are depicted in front of their tipi, one sitting with a small child, the older next to an older child and their dog, who is used as a pack animal for gathering wood. On the website of the Provincial Archives of Alberta the photograph is attributed to Ernest Brown and dated ca. 1891-1904, with the technique listed as Gelatin Dry Plate Negative. The photograph is also published (coloured) as postcard.
