Farewell book, presented to Adolphe Piret "Directeur du Collège Communal et Préfet de l'Athenée Royal de Chimay" on 27 September 1885, with dedication to Piret and handwritten list of those present at the party (professors, taskmasters and former pupils, total ca. 60 pages text) and a large number of empty pages, all pages with lithographed border, bound in rich gilt red morocco with gilt lettered title on front cover, gilt edges, folio 32.5 x 26.5 cm. (small defects).

Finely decorated memorial book. The Chimay Athenée Royal still exists. Tipped-in are a printed in memoriam, a handwritten letter (1965) and a printed award (1884), related to persons mentioned in the memorial book.
