Limited edition of 100 copies, distributed solely to libraries. Self-published by Van Gulik, after which the blocks were destroyed to guarantee the impossibility of reprints. Although Van Gulik indicated these are woodcuts from the Ming period, it is very plausible he made the blocks himself (the style matches with his Rechter Tie drawings) and for that reason destroyed the blocks afterwards.
